The Best Tights and Socks For Fall and Winter
I love writing two posts per day because it gives me the time to explore every aspect of fashion. I’ve blogged lately about bras and panties, but today I’m going to talk about some other items that don’t get enough attention. Clean out that sock drawer. Today I’m sharing the best tights and socks for fall and winter.

My daughter first introduced me to these tights last year. They are incredibly warm, and the more they stretch out, the more they look like your skin showing through. That’s not the case, you are actually seeing the fleece lining through the tights, and your legs are still toasty warm.
I was skeptical when I first saw the tights. But, after trying them on and seeing how warm they were, I quickly ordered a 3 pack for my mother. She has struggled to stay warm when she wears dresses to church, and these have helped with that issue. She messaged me the other day telling me how much she liked them.
The 3 pack I ordered included a black, gray, and coffee pair. This is the coffee pair that I’m wearing. The medium/large size was plenty big enough for me, and I didn’t have to tug and get all sweaty trying to put them on. Lol!
More of The Best Tights and Socks For Fall and Winter – Tights
Tights are trending big time right now. Have you tried Sheertex tights yet? Their claim to fame is that they are rip-resistant. They were named one of Time’s best inventions, presumedly by women who were tired of snagged pantyhose, lol. These are pricier than most, but worth it if they last longer.
I like wearing tights with skirts and tall boots in the winter. These semi-opaque tights provide just the right coverage. These are about half the price of Sheertex, and you get two pairs instead of just one. There are several colors available if you’re not a fan of the black and brown pictured here.
Here are more fleece-lined tights. These are opaque and come in several colors like dark grey, navy, and nude, to name a few. My daughter also has these in black and nude. These are great for wearing skirts and dresses when you have to be outside, but you can also wear them under your pants for an extra layer of warmth. These come in a 2-pack and are under $20.
The Best Tights and Socks For Fall and Winter – Socks
I LOVE Smartwool socks! A friend bought me my first pair, and I’ve been a fan ever since. They are made from Merino wool and are so comfortable and cozy. If you have a lot of walking to do or just want to sit in front of the fire, these are the socks for you. Check the link for other fun color combinations.
Okay, hear me out on these toe socks. One of the foot issues that plague older women is bunions. They are caused when we stuff our feet into narrow shoes, so most of us try to buy shoes with a wider toe box. Yet, we still stuff our feet into narrow socks! These toe socks allow the toes to move independently. They may look strange, but they serve a good purpose. 🙂
Sometimes, a gurl just wants to be cozy! Well, it doesn’t get any cozier than Barefoot Dreams. These socks are the ultimate in comfort. I buy these every winter as Christmas stocking stuffers. These come in a pack of two and are available in black, grey, and pink.
The Best Tights and Socks For Fall and Winter – Bombas
Bombas are VERY popular. If you’ve ever worn a pair, you understand why. They just feel great on the foot. They make all kinds of styles, including the no-show pair I’ve featured. (See below for more.) These are great to wear with sneakers or booties. Even better, Bombas has a model like Toms. For every pair ordered, they’ll donate a pair!
The 4-pack of Bombas calf sock style has already sold out. You can still purchase individual socks, but not as a pack. I love a soft, cushioned sock to wear with jeans or my favorite lounge pants. Bombas are very durable and hold up well through numerous washings. If you haven’t tried them, grab a pair. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!
Alright, Gurls. Time to clean out that sock drawer! Let me know which of these comfy socks you’re going to try.

Verse Of The Day
James 1:22-24
22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.

THe cushioned no show socks are very appealing!
Everyone I know loves Bombas. I think I need to give them a try!
Was going to try the Bombas crew length but link is not working 🤷♀️
I’ll try again later. Thanks for the post!!
Spanx tights are the best and they hold up exceptionally well. I’ve worn some of mine now for 2-3 years and wash them gently and they are amazing.
I think I might want them all! Do I need them? No, but they all look so comfortable.
Gayle, we might be sisters. Lol!
Love the stirrup style opaque tights. I’m tall so no scrunched up toes! Also, I’m a big fan of Bombas socks. I help run a local food pantry and we are sharing partners with Bombas. They really do give a pair away for every pair they sell!
Jackie, I plan on doing a Bombas socks review tomorrow.
I’m a tights and socks girl. The first tights might be something I would try. If it’s under 60 degrees I’m wearing socks. I have quite a collection. I remember toe socks. They were popular a few years ago. I can’t wear them because my toes are crooked.
I never knew that tights had fleece. Im always cold and I live in Calif……yes we do get cold weather. Thanks for the ideas.
I didn’t know those tights existed either until my daughter showed me.
I’m going to try the Barefoot Dreams socks. My feet are always cold and those look so cozy and warm!
I need to try the wool socks
