THE GREATEST ROYAL LOVE STORY
The Royal Wedding was on everybody tongue this past week. I think there are a lot of reasons why this was so interesting to us. First, we in America find the Royals and the Royal family intriguing. It is not something that we see regularly and it is a foreign concept to us. Plus, all the pomp and circumstance is so over-the-top and glamorous. Secondly, this is Princess Diana’s son and let face it, we still have a soft spot for her boys. We feel a connection to them and are interested in their lives. But I think the next reason is the most important.
We all want to see and read a love story. The fact that the two people in love are famous makes it all the more fascinating. What will they wear? Who will give them away? Who is in the wedding party? How long will the first kiss last? The questions go on and on and on. While their love is fascinating, the clothing is beautiful, and the ceremony is amazing, you have to wonder……is it everlasting? We all are cheering for young couples in love but we also know that the day to day struggles of life can sometimes take its toll. If you add being famous to the mix then you can start to understand the pressures that will be facing this young couple.
The greatest love story of all time has already happened. This love story contained a King and a Prince. The Royal Family is royalty on earth but the King of all Kings is the Lord. He is above all things and everyone. His pomp and circumstances are the stars in the skies, the sun and the moon, and all of the Angels in Heaven. His son, the Prince, is Jesus Christ. God loved the world so much that:
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” and in Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Even though His love is undeserved, He still loves us. He loves us even though we sin, even though we are disobedient, and even though we are far from perfect. There is one who loves you and who doesn’t care if you had a bad day. There is one who doesn’t care if you cleaned the house or did the laundry. There is one who loves us unconditionally, the Lord.
I agree that it is wonderful to see the love of a young couple but it can’t compare to the amazing love that our Lord bestows on us for all eternity. Now, THAT is a love story!!!
Have A Blessed Day!
Great post and so well-said! Thank you <3
AMEN! So well said!
I always enjoy your Sunday devotionals. I am beginning to think they may be the real point and purpose of your blog. It is always amazing to see the ways the Lord chooses to use people for His Glory. Our world is so in need of these lessons you give each Sunday.
Amen sister!
Thank you for that reminder!!! Blessings to you for all you do!!!
Oh what an amazing testament to your faith, my friend! And there is no greater love story than that! Thank you for sharing!
Bishop Curry nailed the expectation for John 3:16 it with his sermon at the royal wedding “When love is the way, unselfish, sacrificial, redemptive, when love is the way, then no child will go to bed hungry in this world ever again. When love is the way, we will let justice roll down like a mighty stream and righteousness like an ever-flowing brook. When love is the way, poverty will become history. When love is the way, the earth will be a sanctuary. When love is the way, we will lay down our swords and shields, down by the riverside, to study war no more. When love is the way, there’s plenty good room, for all of God’s children because when love is the way, we actually treat each other well, like we are actually family”
His message was so beautiful! As is yours, Tania. I was moved by how God used this wedding for millions to hear about His eternal love–and to see a fuller picture of the richness and beauty of our human family.
Thank you for the reminder of John 3:16. For God SO loved the world… I like to think about that. A verse you learn as a child and sometimes say by rote but to me most important to remember because it says it all. Blessings to you and your family.
Well said…….Amen.
Love this! Thank you so much!
Amen
Best…Kathy
Very good reminder. We are loved by Him, which has meaning far above all the pomp and glory of earthly events.
