THE LATEST STYLES FROM THE NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE
There will not be time for a story today. This post is going to be long and jam-packed full of goodies. Today, I am going to be showing you the latest styles from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and I still have a lot more coming. Every time Joe walks through my room, he shakes his head because there is no place that he can even set down. Lol! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale had fewer choices than in the previous years, but that allowed me to concentrate. When you have a squirrel brain like mine, you find yourself blinded by all of the choices, and I feel like I might be in danger of being hit by a car.
This year, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale was a lot smaller, had a preview viewing time, and I think that most people chose to shop online instead of going to the stores. I’m not sure how well-stocked they were in inventory, it sure seems like a lot of items sold out fast. I guess that is to be expected when you have fewer items to choose from. Everyone liked the same things. Lol!
It’s like Christmas getting to open up all of these boxes. Some of the items fit me great, and some need adjusting. Some are similar to what I already own, and some are making me get out of my comfort zone. I love looking back at the older photos of the first couple of years of my blog. It is fascinating to see my style change and evolve. I bet when I look back in a couple more years, it will have changed again.
Seeing the change makes me happy. I never want to be stuck in a particular look. The only thing that seems to stay about the same is my hair. It might be shorter in the fall and winter, and longer in the spring and summer, but the style will stay similar.
I’ve been painting the inside of my house this past week. It looks like my fashion is not the only thing changing around here. I am going more clean and sparse looking. I have gone from dark colors to light gray and white. The change in color has made me look at the clutter that had blended in with the dark colors, and now it is getting ready to leave my house.
I am in a more uncomplicated mood when it comes to my decor. We only use about 30% of our house, and we tend to use the same rooms over and over again. So, all of the extra crap has got to go. I think it is good to purge every so often, and that includes my clothing. I find myself reaching for the same things, so anything that hasn’t been worn in over a year has got to go!
Okay, maybe the real reason that I need to purge my closet is so that I can bring new clothing in. Lol! I knew someone who said, “if 1 item comes in, then 1 has to leave,” and that kept her closet under control. I could do that easily since I have things in my closet that have been in there for years. Be sure to stay tuned; I am sure that I’ll be getting rid of a lot of things soon. After all, I have a lot of new items that just came in, and I am going to be keeping a LOT of this!!!
Before we get talking about all of the new items, I am going to give you an idea of my size. I am 5’6″ tall, and I weigh around 155-160 at any given time. I usually wear a size 10 in jeans and tops, a 12 in dresses, and either a medium or large when it comes to everything else. My shoe size is usually a 9, and unless I say otherwise, that will be the size in all of my shoes.
Now, let’s start talking about all of the items in the previous outfits that I just showed you. This isn’t everything that has already come in, but it at least is a good start. This satin cowl neck camisole has a unique leopard print. I like the bold print, and I like how it is a different play on the standard leopard print that you see everywhere. This camisole is under $20.00, so it makes a big statement for a small amount of money. The straps are not adjustable, though, so if you think it is too low necked, you would need to tack the straps up yourself. I am wearing a size 10, which is my usual size, and it fits me great. This also comes in solid black, which would look fabulous for a date night. Hubba Hubba. Here are some other camisoles that are also on sale.
These black leather pointed-toe boots by Vince Camuto are wonderful! I don’t have a good pair of black ankle boots, so I decided to grab these in black instead of the brown snake print that I wanted. I love the big black chunky heel, and that will keep me more stable when I walk. The pointy toe does make the boot feel tight, but I don’t think that I want to size up. But, I don’t wear socks with my shoes; I just can’t stand the feeling. So, if you wear socks, especially if they are thick, then you will want to size up at least a half size. These zip in the back, so they are pretty easy to put on and take off.
I am trying to link additional “similar” items in all of these looks since so much has already sold out. Your size might be already gone, but hopefully, one of the other looks will be in stock for you.
This black Vionic Suede Sandal is very unique. One side of this sandal is open, and the other side is closed, which makes for a very different look. I love the adjustable strap on this sandal; also, it is a tortoiseshell print that is very stylish. The heel is a chunky block heel, and it is 3 1/2″ high. Vionic shoes have orthotic comfort and support, and these shoes also add style to that list. There are three other colors to choose from, but they don’t have the tortoiseshell print strap.
I LOVE this two-sided gold textured scarf by Madewell. I can’t wait to style this for fall with a jean jacket and ankle boots. Some of you have been asking for a scarf tying tutorial, and I’ll do one of those soon. The other side of this scarf is white and gold stripes, so you are getting 2-n-1 with this.
Loafers, or slides, are in this year. I love the ease of slipping them on, but you also have to be careful about them slipping off. Lol! Honestly, these will probably go back. The quality is good, the color is nice, the chain is a fabulous detail, but I am having trouble keeping them on when I walk. They feel a little big to me, and I am wearing my usual size 9 in them. Plus, I don’t feel like I will get to wear them enough since it gets cold here where I live. For those who live in a warmer area all winter long, then you might enjoy these. These are by Sam Edelman, and they are under $75.00.
I love these leather open-toe snakeskin ankle booties! They also have the big block chunky heel, are you starting to notice a trend? And, the heel is a tiny bit higher than the others since it is 4″ tall. It is strange because it didn’t feel like it was that tall when I was walking in it. I am wearing my usual size 9, but I have ordered a 9.5 to compare the fit. The size is fine, but the band at the ankle feels tight.
This suede moto jacket by BLANKNYC was everyone’s favorite item on Instagram stories. I’ve never been a “moto” jacket wearing gal, but I decided to step outside of my comfort zone and give this jacket a try. This jacket is such great quality, and all of the hardware is very heavy and nice. I am wearing a large in the jacket, and I am so glad that I sized up so that I can wear a sweater under it if I want. The color that I am wearing is French Taupe, and it also comes in a slightly darker color called Road Trip.
Soft and cozy are the two words that I would use to describe this sweater by Gibson. This sweater runs big, and even though I ordered a medium, I am sending them (I also bought a gray one) back and getting a small instead. Woohoo, when was the last time that I wore a small? Lol! I love the deep v-neck and the nice cuff on the sleeves. Plus, this sweater comes in several other colors for you to choose from.
Which do you want to talk about, the black raw hemmed jeans, or the gorgeous Tory Burch handbag? Let’s just start with the black jeans, and then we will get to the bag. These high rise skinny jeans by Madewell have one tiny bit of distressing at the knee. You can’t even see the distressing unless I have my knee bent, so it is very subtle. The rise is higher than any jeans that I’ve had before, and it hits me about 1.5-2″ above my belly button. It is odd, not uncomfortable, just an odd feeling. The legs are pretty skinny, and I decided to order the next size up and see how they fit. These are my regular size 30, which equals a size 10.
The Carson Leather Tote by Tory Burch is beautiful and functional. I love the feel of this bag, but it is the huge divided sections inside that I like the most. I like that this handbag can be carried with a dress or worn with jeans. The chain gives the bag a dressy look, but also an edgy look. This bag also comes in black, but I went with the caramel color called Moose.
These Catherine Boyfriend Jeans from Kut From The Kloth are so comfortable. I love these jeans, and I’ve worn them all day long. The raw-edged cuff can be worn up or turned back down since it is not tacked. I don’t like baggy jeans, so I sized down and ordered an 8 instead of my usual size 10.
These Tory Burch ankle boots are my splurge purchase for this sale. The shaft on these boots is higher at 5 1/4″ tall. I wanted a higher boot so that I could wear them with crop jeans. My son commented that it looked like Tory Burch partnered with Timberland when he saw the lug sole. Lol! The 3 1/2″ heel is comfortable, and I wore these a long time today with no issue at all. The iconic logo is on the side of the boot, and I am wearing my usual size 9, and they fit great.
I love the color of this leather jacket by Rachel Parcell! This is a very nice and heavyweight jacket, and it is definitely on the edgy side. I ordered a medium in this jacket, but it is a tiny bit tight through the arms, so I ordered a large in to see the difference. If I wanted to wear anything that wasn’t sleeveless, the jacket would be too tight. I’ll update you once the large arrives.
The last item for today is these Spanx Perfect Black Pant. I am wearing a size large in these pants, and this is the size that fits me best. They are Spanx, so that means that they are snug and hug you in all of the right places. These are gorgeous! They have a seam that runs down the back and a tiny slit at the ankle. They feel like a heavy Ponte knit, so they are comfortable to wear. And they look so nice that you can wear them as dressy as you want. These pants are like the Madewell jeans above, and they have the 11″ rise also. Maybe that will help to hold in my gut. Lol!
Okay, gurls, which is your favorite look, or what is your favorite item? Have you shopped the sale yet, or are you shopping on the 19th? I still have more items to show you, so be sure to stay tuned next week for more looks coming your way.

To God Goes The Glory!
James 1:9-11
9 Believers in humble circumstances ought to take pride in their high position. 10 But the rich should take pride in their humiliation—since they will pass away like a wild flower. 11 For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business.
lots of great looks ! hope you will show us your interior changes too…..
Love your term, lived in style! We will be remodeling our small kitchen this fall and I’m so excited. So tired of having the oak cabinets. So I too have been looking at fall decor with the white pumpkins. Keep up the great work of getting us all ready for Fall!
I am a Canadian working in NYC. With Covid and the border being closed, I am not able to get home to see my family. This sale (my first!) has cheered me a little! I’ve also lost nearly 50lbs over the last few months and am now a nice, regular size 14. I’m having so much fun creating a new wardrobe with YOUR inspiration. The only area where I haven’t lost weigh are my giant calves but I did find wide calf boots on the sale! You inspired me to go for the suede jacket BTW.
FYI – I’ve bought my husband a couple Christmas gifts and have sent the link to my sons so they can make their Christmas lists. This sale is now going to be an annual event.
Thank you for brightening my long days.
Luv all the looks you featured. Are you losing weight? Your face appears thinner.
I love the Tory Burch ankle boots and the camisole.
My favorites are all the outfits with the leopard camisole & black jeans. Very flattering & edgy looking
French taupe is my new favorite color and it looks stunning with the pink top and blue jeans. The boots are great. My favorite look but I also like the slightly slouchy sweater, Is it thin or nice and thick. I’m done with these thin things. I want regular weight clothing back.
Love the moto jacket on you!
Please send info on skin care.
I love all these looks on you. That necklace worked with all the outfits beautifully. Please give us s link to the links!
I LOVE the butterscotch colored leather jacket!!
I like the MOTO jacket with pink shirt, it looks so comfortable and put together. I also like the caramel cardigan, would you have a link to that?
Knowing my lifestyle, the Gibson sweater is my pick. Is it thick, And/or itchy? I like light weight and soft. I don’t have a N.card, so have to wait until the 19th. It really is annoying that everything is selling out.
All of these outfits are amazing on you! So much inspiration to go dig in my own closet and then hit the sale! Do you have links to the pink t-shirt and the necklace you’re wearing? Thanks for all the great ideas and reviews!
First of all I wouldn’t be able to pick a favorite! Everything is gorgeous. I am 66 and I just found your blog about a week ago. So excited to see everything. I am a serious lover of everything jacket! I asked last week for you to tell us how tall you were. Thank you for addressing that. Sometimes when I’m looking at fashion it’s all very tall anorexic women. I am 5’4 and weigh between 125-130. It’s good to know that you are not 6′ tall. You also talked about the loafers that you couldn’t keep on your feet when you walked…they make a half insole or ball of the foot pad that helps keep them on. Usually Dr. Schols sold at your drug store. A woman after my own heart, you are purging your “crap”. Our house flooded during Hurricane Harvey and we lost literally everything. Actually not a bad thing (now that I look back). When we rebuilt I now have the closet of my dreams and refuse to put anything in it that I don’t wear! It’s such a great feeling to walk into the closet and frankly the house and not have junk! Good luck on your purging. Looking so forward to the rest of your haul from Nordstroms!
I really appreciate your honest comments… I love the look of the mules but am grateful for your comment about trying to keep them on your feet! It’s your honesty that keeps me reading and following your blog… THANK YOU! These are great looks – you found some terrific buys and I like the styles you created! ????
I loved the black sweater, but alas sold out of my size. You look gorgeous in the butterscotch leather jacket with leopard cami.
Great post. So many ideas. Love the BLANKNY tan suede jacket, Vince black leather booties are sharp but the heel is too high for me. The Kut Catherine jeans are different from all my skinnies so I need to think about them.
They all look great on you. My fav is the tan jacket over the tshirt.
You look amazing!!!
I love both looks with the jackets best! They just look so stylish and polished. I love to dress up, but have no place to go right now, so I just dream about future plans and thanks Tania for “keeping me going” during this pandemic, ’cause I love fashion!
I bought 2 pairs of black pants and just bought the gray and black Gibson sweaters. May buy the black/tortoise sandals. They’re so pretty, but I can’t think of where I would wear them!
Have a great weekend and thanks for all you do. All that you put together is a lot of work. I don’t know how you do it!
Such a great post today! You really found some beautiful styles.
My fav the leopard camisole under the leather jacket outfit! I do like the the others but that is my favorite look!
You make all these items look good!!! Love them all! Especially the black jeans and the Tory Burch handbag! I am partial to handbags!!! Would love to see pictures of your house when you’re done! You could inspire us that way as well !!!!
I also ordered the Tory Burch handbag but in black, I’m so excited!! I also ordered the Spanx pants….we will see about those. Thank you so much, love this post and everything looks great on you!
My favorite look is the one with the jeans and moto jacket over the pink shirt. Modern and comfortable looking.
