THREE EASY WAYS TO WEAR A SUMMER SCARF
I might look bright, refreshed, and full of energy in these photos. But, if you could see me right now, you would see a different picture. I am TIRED! Whew, these past 7 days have been a whirlwind, and it will take me several days to recover. I am also feeling extremely happy and blessed. Having all of the grandchildren together for a whole week was the best.
We swam in the pool for several days. They watched fireworks on the 3rd, and then on the 4th, they bought a slip-n-slide and water balloons. That was hilarious, and everyone got soaked. As the night went on, we grilled hamburgers while the kids made tie-dye shirts. My son built a fire, and then we had S’mores and a new concoction that I had never tried. It was a strawberry coated in marshmallow creme and then roasted over the fire. That was delicious!
On Monday, we went to a waterpark, and that is what just about did me in. It was in the 90s, not a cloud in the sky, and thousands of people all shoulder to shoulder. We arrived at 11:30 and didn’t leave until 7:30. It makes me tired just thinking about it.
This outfit looks “put-together,” but it is just a tee-shirt and chinos with a scarf. The scarf ties the outfit together since it has the colors of both items. This scarf was from Talbots, or at least I think it was. I can’t find it on their website, so maybe I am wrong. I always cut the tags off of my scarves, so I can’t see for sure where it was from. Here are some similar scarves that you can use similarly.
I am wearing a navy v-neck tee-shirt with short sleeves. There is nothing about this tee that sets it apart from the others, but it is a great price and a nice weight. The tee comes in 19 colors/prints, so you can grab a couple and still not spend a lot of money. I am wearing a large because I like my t-shirts to be relaxed and slightly oversized.
I am a huge fan of these purple orchid chinos! This shade of purple has cropped up in my wardrobe several times this year, and I just keep picking items in this shade. You can see that the pants have a relaxed fit and slant pockets, and they are ankle-length. I have them cuffed, but you could wear them un-cuffed for a longer length. I am wearing a size 8 instead of my usual size 10. I have to size down when it comes to Talbots pants.
Here is a look from the back so that you can see the fit of the chinos. I know that is an important view for everyone.
My neutral wedge espadrilles are a pair that I wear quite often. I love how they elongate my leg but don’t call attention to my feet. This neutral color will go with almost anything, and you can wear them with jeans, shorts, dresses, or skirts. That makes the shoes very versatile. I am wearing my usual size 9, so the shoes run true to size.
The wedges come in two other colors, plus one that is two-toned.
Here are a couple of ways to wear a summer scarf. This is a simple loop around the neck with the tail hanging at the sides.
You might not want to wear a scarf around your neck because of the heat. Or, you might want to show your top without taking away from the look. So, you can wear a long rectangle scarf as a belt or tie it around your handbag for color, without the heat.
The last way that I am wearing the scarf is as a simple knot. This look creates the long v-neck, and I use this style a lot when I wear a crew neck to help elongate my neck.

Tania, you look absolutely adorable cute!🌻
You wear this outfit well, and look so very trim too! Have you changed your diet or exercise activity or both? Please share your secret, you mentioned your son was your coach! I’m sure others would like to know your secret too! I sure could use some inspiration!
I need to try putting a scarf through the belt loops. It adds flair to an outfit
I would never have thought to combine those 2 colors, but they look great and the scarf really ties them together. Sounds like so much fun with all the grandkids. That is something they will always remember.
Love the chinos! Wish they came in curvy fit and had free shipping….I’m such a grump! I guess I’ll have to enjoy them on you!
I love the chinos also. Are they a part of the Red Hanger sale that is going on now???
It is great how a scarf can bring together two colors. I’m with you on that color. It is beautiful. I want a cardigan in that color. Glad you have a nice vacation. Now you can rest up. LOL
I am resting up by catching up on everything that I neglected while they were here. Lol!
I absolutely love the navy and purple orchid colors together. Love the chinos style pants with a simple t shirt. The scarf pulls it all together. Perfect together!
Thanks, Judy! I love how a scarf can make an outfit.
Love all the looks and colors. I have two drawers full of scarves but don’t think of wearing them in the summer. What a great idea.
I have a lot of scarves also. I love wearing them all year round.
We are spending this week with two of our grandkids too. It is exhausting but so worth it. Coming from Florida and Texas up into the cool north Georgia mountains is a treat! I love the colors of the outfit and how the pieces all come together with the scarf. Scarves can be dated but this one is so pretty.
Have fun, Penny Jo!!!
What fun wasy to wear a scarf. Love the whole outfit.
I am so glad that you enjoyed today’s outfit.
Love, love, love the scarf as a belt! Such a cute way to add some pattern and tie together the two solid colors. You look great as always, Tania!

We had a wonderful time together.
