Titus – Overlooked And Underrated
I grew up in church. That means I attended church on Sunday, Sunday nights, and Wednesday nights. Plus, if there was a revival or meeting, we attended those too. So, you would think that I would have heard about all the Biblical figures in the Bible. However, I don’t believe that I’ve ever listened to a sermon on Titus, which was an injustice to this man.
Who Was Titus
According to the Bible, Titus was a Gentile believer who accompanied Paul on some of his missionary journeys. He’s first mentioned in Galatians 2, where Paul describes how he took Titus to Jerusalem to meet with the other apostles and defend the gospel they were preaching.
Titus is mentioned several times in the New Testament as a companion and co-worker of the Apostle Paul.
2 Corinthians 2:13
13 I still had no peace of mind, because I did not find my brother Titus there. So I said goodbye to them and went on to Macedonia.
2 Corinthians 7:5-7
5 For even when we came into Macedonia, our bodies had no rest, but we were afflicted at every turn—fighting without and fear within. 6 But God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of Titus, 7 and not only by his coming but also by the comfort with which he was comforted by you, as he told us of your longing, your mourning, your zeal for me, so that I rejoiced still more.
This passage shows that Titus was not just a colleague to Paul but a source of comfort and encouragement to him during a difficult time. Through Titus’ words and actions, Paul was reminded of the love and support of his fellow believers, which brought him great comfort and joy.
Are You A Titus
Everyone needs a Titus in their life. A colleague, partner, friend, and brother who is there for them during good times and bad. Paul talked about going through a battle and being gripped by fear. He mentions that God comforted him by sending Titus. How wonderful it would be to be used by the Lord to comfort someone.
Can you imagine how Paul’s eyes lit up when he saw Titus coming? We’ve all heard and read about Paul the Apostle. The Lord used Paul to encourage the churches at Rome, Corinth, Galatia, Ephesus, Philippi, Colossae, and Thessalonica. Many people came to The Lord because of Paul and his teachings. But even Paul needed someone here on earth, and that person was Titus.
Take a few minutes to think about who YOUR Titus is and who YOU are a Titus to.
To God Goes The Glory
Have A Blessed Day
Thank you so much for sharing this, I’m actually speaking at a Ladies conference next week and using scripture from Titus, but I understand even better now the man. Blessings!
Thank you for the reminder to encourage and express gratitude for the encouragement I receive from others.

thank you, thank you for sharing this today! God bless and have an amazing week!❤️
Thank you, Tania, for this. In my youth, I attended a Church called St. Timothy. Timothy and Titus were companions to Paul. Very interesting and enlightening to pursue. I am fortunate to have many Titus’s in my life, and I try to be a Titus to others every day by keeping a positive and helpful attitude. God bless you and all readers.
Thank you for sharing this. I’m a Titus to many these days but I feel it’s my calling. I do have a few friends I can connect with when I need them.
Thanks, Tania!
