IS IT A TREE, A MOUNTAIN, OR A PIECE OF PIZZA

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas with their families. We had a lot of fun here at the Stephens compound even though there was just a few of us. Because of some sickness with my sister-in-law’s family, we decided to celebrate with them next weekend. Woohoo! I get to do Christmas 2 weekends in a row! The real fun of Christmas is watching it through the eyes of a child.When Joseph and Kayla showed up, Emersyn came flying through the doors and ran immediately to the living room where the Christmas tree is at. She stopped dead in her tracks though when she saw a HUGE present there. Her presents were a toybox and a teepee. The toybox was not wrapped and we decided to go ahead and set the teepee up for her. But, we wanted her to have a present to open so we decided to “wrap” the teepee after it was set up. Let’s just say that it was not the prettiest wrapped present you have ever seen. Lol!

She laid on the ground and was trying to peek under the wrapping to see what it was. We started guessing what it could be. I said that I thought it was a tree, Ashleigh said she thought it was a mountain, and then Kayla said maybe it was a huge slice of pizza. Emersyn looked at us like we were nuts and said that she thought it was a tent.

We ate dinner before she could open the presents so she spent her time getting inside the toybox and looking through the handle openings at us. She reminded me of the opening of the Adam’s Family. Do you remember when the “hand” would come up out of the box? That was what she was doing all last night. Lol!

Once we started opening the presents she ripped into it in seconds and then declared, “See, I told you it was a tent!” We had strung fairy lights all around it on the inside and outside so when I turned those on she was beside herself. I also got her a Matilda Jane sleeping bag and it was inside of the teepee. She sat inside the teepee for the rest of the night. Lol!

Little Beckham was too little to open presents but he did enjoy his toys. He is teething so of course, everything goes straight to his mouth. Lol!

I can’t wait to watch the grandbabies in Tennessee open their gifts in a few days. I will be traveling down and we will be having Christmas later on this week. Like Emersyn, their presents are mostly too large to wrap. I sent their parents money and they spent most of it on making each one of them unique loft beds for their rooms. Jett’s is a hunting cabin, Matti’s is a playroom, and Huttson’s is a baseball dugout. They aren’t completely finished, but you can see how cute they are.
