50 IS NOT OLD | USING A PONCHO AS A COVERUP | FASHION OVER 40The sun is shining and the birds are chirping but dang, it is still cold as crap outside. I can’t wait to see spring finally hit and this place thaw out from this past winter. I now understand why people go south for the winter! I am just so sick of the cold weather that this morning I have been looking for someplace warmer. I am not sure if I am thinking about a real move or if I am just talking about someplace to escape to when the winter blahs has got me down.50 IS NOT OLD | USING A PONCHO AS A COVERUP | FASHION OVER 40The problem is that I want it all, doesn’t everybody? I want all the conveniences of home so that means nothing cramped. I want a mild temperature all the year around so that means no scorching in summer and freezing in the winter. I want to be able to have restaurants and shopping opportunities but I still want small and quaint. I want it to be affordable. I want a nice and friendly atmosphere. Joe on the other hand only wants a garage, a nice golf course, and a small airport nearby. Don’t we sound like a realtor’s dream? If you have suggestions on just the right location then PLEASE let me know.50 IS NOT OLD | USING A PONCHO AS A COVERUP | FASHION OVER 40Today I have a Chambray Poncho on by Treasure & Bond. This is really soft and really cute for a top that you can just pull on and go. I am styling this as a top but honestly, I would probably use this more as a coverup at the beach or pool. It has an elastic waist and can fit from a size 4 to a size 12. The plunging neckline is flattering and the kimono type sleeves just add to the flowy feel. The elastic waist hits right beneath the breast which is supposed to be our most narrow point and therefore the most flattering. This was part of my Trunk Club shipment. Several of you have asked about this service and who my stylist is. Her name is Elizabeth and you can signup with Trunk Club and Elizabeth by going to this link50 IS NOT OLD | USING A PONCHO AS A COVERUP | FASHION OVER 40I added these Wedgewood blue earrings to my look. These have a 2″ drop and they are called the Sadie. The cute little multi-colored bird necklace is the Chrisann. This is a dainty necklace that just fills that “V” in a lot of our shirts and clothing. The colors in this necklace are perfect for spring and summer also. It is retiring though and when the stock sells out it will be gone. My denim and rhinestone bracelet called the Ritta is also on the retiring list. I am sad to see this magnetic bracelet go, it has been one of my favorite bracelets this past fall. I wear jeans a lot in the winter months and this was something that I would grab as I went out the door. It has already sold out and I don’t think it will be coming back to the website anytime. If you are interested in seeing the retirement list then check out the post where I list all of them here50 IS NOT OLD | USING A PONCHO AS A COVERUP | FASHION OVER 40This look gives you a good idea how flowy the poncho really is. lol! I just threw on a pair of jeans with this since I was running out to pick up Emersyn but I could have paired it with a white pair of pants for a completely different look. I thought I might stop and take her to the little park in town (if the wind is not too cold) so I also put on a pair of flats. I wanted to make sure that I could run and play with her plus the ground is covered with bark chips so flats of some kind are a must. The jeans are a pair of Earl jeans and the navy ballet slippers are by Isaac Mizrahi. The items that I am linking to below are all from Macy’s which is having a huge VIP sale so be sure to check it out.

50 IS NOT OLD | USING A PONCHO AS A COVERUP | FASHION OVER 40Wish me luck keeping up with Emersyn. Lol! Let me know if you guys find some good things on sale at Macy’s. I am going to try and check it out myself later on tonight.

  1. Very pretty blue color and I think a poncho would be so versatile. I am with you that I’m so done with winter and we just had snow again last night. We were hoping to get in the field to start spring field work next week and that’s not going to happen. Where do you find Earl Jeans?

    Amelia island Florida. Enough said!

  3. I’m always telling my husband that if we ever find a place where it’s about 70 degrees all year ’round – we’re moving immediately. LOL

  4. Cute top. It can be worn so many ways. I’ll have to check it out. Snowing here today – again so know how you feel about winter. I’m over it! Have good weekend. I to am looking forward to your Sunday post.

Y’all need to check out North myrtle beach we have a small airport in windy hill and we also have the bigger airport with reasonable prices on flights come on down

  8. This color looks great on you. You have described my perfect place to retire too. However, it would be so hard to leave the grandchildren!

  9. Hey Tania I have a great location for you! I live in Fort Worth Texas on a golf course with a large garage and an international airport nearby as well as three smaller airports within a 30 minute drive. Our temperature today was 75! While you are thinking that’s great but housing here is over built, I also have 1500 acres of ranch land that I get to enjoy the sunset and watch the cattle move around on every evening. We would welcome you here! By the way your poncho was super cute!

  10. You look so nIce in blue, goes very well with your eyes and complexion. Like your hair style, seems a tad longer-suits you! Awaiting your Sunday message-yay!! Bless
