The first day of 2019 is in the record books. My day was spent working on statements and printing off reports. In case you were wondering, that was NOT on my resolution list. Lol! I don’t start my resolutions until today because there are certain traditions that I do that don’t go along with my new diet. Plus, I have to do “work” stuff on the first, so I find it easier to start on the second of January. While I was busy working, Joe was busy playing. Lol! After work, I came home and started cooking the one time a year dinner of black-eyed peas, fried cabbage, and cooked turnips. Emersyn came over to visit for the afternoon. When she came through the door, she had her suitcase with her. I asked her if she was running away from home or if she was going to spend the night with me. She assured her daddy that she was going to spend the night. Lol! He didn’t seem too concerned since we both knew that the odds of her even spending the night was extremely slim. She is like most of our New Year’s resolutions, great intentions but very little follow-through. LOL! Look how pretty this maroon velvet tank top looks against the pale cardigan. Velvet is a huge trend this year, and you can find it in a lot of stores. I bought this top at the end of last year for $5.00 even though I didn’t know that velvet was going to be the latest trend. I love velvet because it looks so rich and elegant.
I love, love, love the Gentry earrings. I love the pearl hoops because they are fun loving and so cute. I love the Alicia necklace with the gorgeous cameo that is attached. I love pearls, so this necklace is one of my favorite items. I also added the Jefra necklace to bring your eyes up to my face. The two green, cream, and tortoiseshell bangles were a special purchase. I am crossing my fingers hoping that they come out in the new catalog. Here is the second pair of Women With Control pants that I got c/o QVC. I chose the navy ankle pant to go with my black mini-bell pair that I had on the blog yesterday. These pants are so comfortable, and they fit great. I love the stretch and the pull-on style that these pants have. This pant is a medium, but I might have even been able to wear a size smaller. If you are in between sizes, then you might even size down. I will get a lot of wear from this pair especially in the summer. Here is the link to Today’s Special Value. The ivory floral cardigan is one that I bought in Charleston at Ann Taylor last year. I loved the muted colors on the cardigan, and I thought the maroon color of the velvet top brought out the same color in the cardigan. I love to pick cardigans that have several colors in them so that I have lots of different colors to chose from.
Wow! 2019 is off to a great start for my Rodan + Business. I had two ladies message me yesterday about becoming a business partner with me. I love when I can help 3 to 4 ladies per month get started in this business. I can give them individual attention and do a lot of hand-holding to get their business off the ground. With any business, there is a small learning curve, and I will be there every step of the way with them. The great thing about this business is that you can earn money while you learn everything that you need to know. Interested? Email me (fiftyisnotold@gmail.com), and me and my Energizer Bunny Friend will hop on the phone with you so that you can ask any question that you would like. Go to my website if you want to check out the different ways that you can join.
If you missed yesterday’s blog post, be sure to check it out here. I am hosting a giveaway for a Kate Spade bangle and you will want to make sure that you are entered.

I left comment yesterday but it didn’t show up. So here’s a repeat. I’ve read your blog since 2016 and it’s the only blog I’ve ever read. Tried others but none are as real, helpful and inspiring like yours. Someone mentioned you feel like a friend even though they don’t know you and I feel same way. I live in a small town similar to yours and know what it’s like to travel 2 hours to shop somewhere besides Walmart. You start my mornings with a good laugh most of the time and that a definite plus. And the R & F products you slowly but surely convinced me to try have really worked. God Bless you and keep up the good work.
Sharon, I am struggling on my new diet. My daughter throws a cog in the works because I want to include her in my meals. I have pretty much decided that I am going to go back on the one that I started in October where I eat 5 or 6 meals a day and the very same thing over and over again. That worked great and it was easy to know what to eat.
I love this cardigan!! And I agree that it looks great with the velvet top!

Cute cute cute
Thanks, Andrea!
Great colour! I’m sick of black and need colour to feel alive, especially this time of year!
I love color too, Janet. For some reason, I have been wearing a lot of gray and black lately and that is not like me. Lol!
I just bought a velour teal color top . I love it. So soft.
I love teal!!! That will be so cute to wear with pants or jeans.
What’s your new diet ? Love your jewelry by the way ❤️

Tania, do the pants “knee spring”?
Lol! Do you mean do you get camel knees when you wear these? The answer is no. These look perfect every time you stand up.
