50 IS NOT OLD | WEARING LEOPARD PRINT AFTER 40This post will probably be fairly short tonight for a couple of reasons. One of the reasons is that I don’t have on any jewelry with the exception on some earrings. No jewelry means no descriptions so there goes a lot of time. But probably the biggest reason is that I am working on reports for the woman’s club. Actually, I am working on the reports AGAIN!50 IS NOT OLD | WEARING LEOPARD PRINT AFTER 40I came home yesterday afternoon and immediately started finishing up a report that needed to be sent to the club president so she can work on her reports. You have to do a narrative report on all the activities and tell how many members participated, how many hours were logged in, how much was money spent and donated, and how much money was raised. You have to tally all those numbers and then fill out a Stat Form. Well, I finally got all that done and told the computer to save it to my documents so that I would have a copy for next year. That is when I got the spinning circle of death. It just kept spinning and wouldn’t stop. I got up and did a few things just thinking it was having a hard time saving the document but when I came back 15 minutes later it was still spinning. I finally had to shut down the computer and reboot it. GONE! Every bit of it was GONE!!! After frantically searching everywhere possible I finally had to just face the fact that I was going to have to start from scratch again. I emailed the President and told her it was going to be late and then sat down to do the blog. I have my priorities. The report will just have to wait till I am finished.50 IS NOT OLD | WEARING LEOPARD PRINT AFTER 40This is as simple as you can get when it comes to putting together an outfit. A top, bottom, and shoes is all I have on and I certainly hope you gurls wear those items when you go out of the house. Lol! This black sweater is one that I bought last year at TJ Maxx. When I was looking through the racks I spotted the little silver horseshoe looking detail and immediately thought, “Ralph Lauren.” The last time I wore this sweater I had just started blogging. You know I am always looking for the unique details that takes a plain item and makes it stand out, and the horseshoe detail did just that.

50 IS NOT OLD | WEARING LEOPARD PRINT AFTER 40A simple pencil shirt is very flattering. I bought this the other day at the overstock store but I almost didn’t buy it. I picked it up and carried it around but the problem was the size. This is by Isaac Mizrahi and they had a sale going on that day where all there clothing was half price. That meant that all the tops were 6.00 and the bottoms were 3.00. I always wear a much smaller size when I buy from the overstock store but this had a size 6 label. I usually wear a 10, but the skirt looked like it would fit, so I decided to give it a try. If it didn’t I wasn’t out very much money. Haha I am so happy I decided to buy the skirt because it fit like a dream!

50 IS NOT OLD | WEARING LEOPARD PRINT AFTER 40I at first thought I would wear a pair of brown boots to keep from having so much black in the outfit. The problem was that I didn’t want any of my lily white legs showing so I grabbed the over the knee boots. When I took the pictures and looked at them I was not really loving the look so I went back into the house and grabbed the black over the knee boots. I liked them much better but I wish I had switched out and carried a brown purse to help even out the colors. WHATEVER! It will just have to do.50 IS NOT OLD | WEARING LEOPARD PRINT AFTER 40Which pair of boots do you gurls like best. I asked Joe and he said as long as the legs were covered, he didn’t care. My legs were blinding him. Hahaha! He was really feeling his oats today. He looked at yesterday’s post and said that he agreed with my mom that my face was changing. I looked at him and said, “really?” That is when he said, “yes it has. It must be the cake diet!” Have you guys seen the insurance commercial where the fisherman keeps yanking the dollar away from the girl. That is how I felt. I almost had a compliment. He laughed and laughed and then finally told me that he really did think it was making a huge difference. He just didn’t want me to be getting the “big head.” What do you do with a man like that????

  1. You must be a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs! And not just a member, but a club president or department chair. Good for you!

    1. Yes, Barbara. I am a past Club President, District President, and I am the Fundraising Chairman for the Sate of Virginina.

      1. Tania, I was active on local and state levels of GFWC in NH for over twenty years, then moved to MA to babysit a granddaughter. No local club, but I volunteer in other ways now. By the way, I am a 68-year-old two-time cancer survivor and recently discovered your blog. I am finding your ideas inspirational to help me dress and use a little bling so that people are saying how good I look. It really helps me to maintain that all important attitude. Thank you so much.

  2. I love black with a pop of leopard detail…I think it’s a very classy look. I would wear it with the black boots. I think you look great!

Wow, that report really turned into a pain in the petunia, didn’t it?? Great outfit as always! I’ve been wanting to say that I checked out some of your old posts and compared them to your latest posts, and you can tell the difference in your skin. You look great! I’m going to order some Rodan and Fields for me just as soon as my tax refund check comes in, HA. Also, you were live earlier with a Facebook post for Plunder, and your hair looked wavier than usual. It was a really pretty variation of your always cute hairstyle!

  4. Great outfit! I like the black boots best. You are showing today that sometimes less is more. You have the exact amount of pizazz needed to make this outfit fabulous!

  5. I forgot I have a leopard skirt. Maybe I will wear it yo church tomorrow. I like the black boots better but I would prefer a pair with a little more heel. Joe sounds like my hubby Bud. Sometimes he teases me like that. Have a blessed weekend.

  6. Love this outfit, my fav is the black boots. You are looking great and younger everyday!

So do you hate tights? Because that’s how I cover my white legs..ha ha!!
We just did a series on animal prints at the end of last year—I’m so glad that it’s not considered tawdry anymore because it’s such a great neutral print!!

Love the skirt and especially the price!!

  9. Love this outfit with either pair of boots. The black lends a more elegant look and the brown boots a more casual look. The look is simple and polished. Hope your weekend is less hectic -enjoy!

  10. This outfit is just FABULOUS, Tania!!! LOVE that horseshoe detail on the top and the leopard print skirt is for sure more than suitable for a woman over 50!!!!! I’ve got a leopard print camisole and I looooove wearing it – which is most of the time with black!!!! I definitely prefer the black boots!!!! This is a great outfit, Tania and even without any jewelry it is very striking – I think the little horseshoe and the earrings add enough sparkle!!!!
    Have a great weekend!!!!

  11. Love your outfit. I really like the black boots.

  12. Nothing wrong with a little leopard in your closet at any age! I’m 54, love my leopard scarfs, actually just purchased a leopard print pullover sweater to wear with my red vest…love it together! I think I prefer a lighter boot with that outfit….. My opinion ….lol

  13. I’m 56 and love animal prints! I’ve got booties and flats in leopard, several tops an scarves too. I also love snake skin print. Have fun!

  14. You can NEVER go wrong with a little animal print! Love the sweater too.

  15. I know the style now is bare legs, but mine look best with panty hose. It hides a lot of imperfections and I feel more dressed up. I agree they’re not the most comfortable, especially in warm weather (I live in FL), but I work in an office that has cold a/c so it works for me. This allows me to wear a shoe, boot or bootie. Love the skirt BTW.

  16. I bought a cardigan last weekend with that identical print. I wore it on Tuesday and my husband thought I was dressed up ? I wore mine with a black pencil skirt and black tank – I felt the need to also keep it simple. It is very out of the box for me but I really liked it

Seeing it on you confirmed it really is nice. This is a great look!

    Enjoy your weekend!

  17. Yeah, this was a real short one!????? I love that skirt and what about wearing leopard after 50! I showed a leopard blouse yesterday on the blog!

Love love love that skirt I’m definitely going to try and get one black boots get my vote years ago I had a gorgeous 50’s style leopard print dress it was a fitted dress with a pencil skirt and I wore very simple burgundy red stiletto shoes with it I loved that dress ! ?

  19. My vote is for the black boots. That look is simple and yet very chic. The buckle detail is great and because of it, you don’t really need a necklace (although you could certainly wear one). This is one fabulous outfit!

  20. I’m reeeeeally digging the cognac boots… Looking Gorgeous (as always)!

  21. I hate that spinning circle ? However I LOVE your outfit. So many times I see things on your blog and think that I would like to wear them but I’m desperate to find a skirt like that!! I think it would be difficult to wear anything around your neck with that lovely horseshoe on your sweater, sometimes less is more ?

    1. My office calls it the ring of fire!

  22. So, does that mean you can’t try on things at the overstock store? Are all sales final? Do they sell housewares or just clothing? You are so lucky to be able to shop there! You look too good to go work at a lumber company all day – lol.

  23. You look adorable. Love your outfit, with the black boots!
