WHAT IS THE PERFECT OUTFIT FOR SPRING
There are a lot of things that remind me of spring, and today I experienced a lot of them. It all started this morning when I looked outside and saw that the sun was trying to break through the clouds. I could see that blue skies were behind the clouds and that the sun was going to break through at any minute. In about 15 minutes, the sun was out full force, and it was a gorgeous sight! After I checked out the weather forecast, I found out that we were going to have a high of 72 for the day. I told Joe what the forecast was, and he said those words that I have been waiting to hear….
“I guess I’ll mow the grass today!” Woohoo!!! It is officially spring! I don’t care when the calendar says the official day of spring is, in my book, it is the first time that you mow the lawn. Lol! I came home from working at the lumber company to the smell of freshly mowed grass and him throwing down extra grass seed. I could have danced a jig since I was so happy. If the weather is pretty tomorrow, I think that I’ll wash off my front porch and maybe re-paint my door. It has been banged up with the wreaths from wreaths. What is your “It’s officially spring” sign?
In case you were wondering, THIS is the perfect outfit for spring! Since it was so pretty today, I had to break out this adorable pink gingham button-up shirt. Like the smell of freshly mowed grass, gingham is also a sign of spring. This shirt is a lightweight cotton material, and it is machine washable. It is long-sleeved, which is perfect for this time of the year, but you can roll the sleeves up later as the weather starts getting warmer. I also like using this type of shirt as a bathing suit coverup and leave it open instead of buttoning it up.
The description on the website says that it has a chest pocket, but mine doesn’t. So, I am not sure if that is incorrect, or if they have changed the shirts since I ordered. ? I decided to tie the shirt in the front instead of tucking it in or letting it hang loose. I think this is a summery look and it reminds me of going on a picnic. Joe might have mentioned something about Ellie Mae Clampet under his breath as I walked by. Lol! I am wearing a medium, and it fits nicely, but I do see that I needed to add a piece of fashion tape between one of the buttons. Here is the link to the shirt, and it also comes in green (great for St. Patrick’s Day) and purple.
The neutral loafers that I have on are so comfortable! These loafers are by Born, and I fell in love with the color and the braiding that goes across the foot. It was a huge plus that they were also comfortable to walk in all day long. I am wearing my usual size 9, which fits me perfectly. However, there are only a few of each size left in stock, so good luck finding your pair. But, don’t worry, I’ll find a few similar ones just in case your size is already sold out.
I know that the Coronavirus is everywhere in the news, and I hope that all of you are taking precautions to stay healthy. I do encourage you to stock up food and supplies that will last you for 2 – 4 weeks. My hope is that you don’t have to use them, but you will have them just in case. I figure what is the difference in buying the food now, and buying it later? Just make sure to buy things that will have a long shelf life or that you can freeze. Also, be sure to buy things that you will actually eat. Don’t know where to start? There is a website called Girl Prepared that will give you some ideas on things to stock up on. I like it because it’s geared toward women and features a lot of budget-friendly content. Stay home if you can, utilize grocery delivery and pickup services, and by all means….wash your hands. Lol! I don’t want any of my gurl’s getting sick.

Tania, where did you purchase your silver rhinestone necklace that you wear often?
Anna, that was a vintage purchase from Etsy. Type in vintage rhinestone circle necklace.
Here in Michigan I got excited when our snow plow service came to remove the marker sticks lining the driveway!
I guess that is a move in the right direction. Lol!
Spring is putting my Easter decorations out! I try to resist buying any more bunnies till I unpack mine. So hard! In Houston we’ve already busted out white jeans!
Julia, I’ve been wearing my white jeans all year. Lol!
