WHAT TO WEAR FOR AN EVERYDAY OUTFIT IN THE FALL
Well, it is finally in the books. Everything about 2020 has been different, and that includes our Presidential election. I am writing this on Tuesday night before the polls start to close, so I don’t know how things are going. Truth be told, by the time you are reading this on Wednesday, we probably still won’t have a concrete idea of who will be our next President. I voted, and that is all that I could do, now we wait to see what the future will bring.
I am not political, so I don’t want to turn this into a post about politics. I simply wanted to observe yet another obstacle that this year has thrown at everyone. Everyone has been affected in some way by this pandemic. I hope that whoever was/is elected President will heal our nation from this virus that is spread by air and the one that is spread by hate. But, for now, we can all say a quick prayer of thanks that the ads, calls, and surveys are hopefully over!!! I really felt sorry for any of you who lived in a swing state since I am sure that you were inundated with campaigns on both sides. Now you can start watching television and answering the phone again. I’m sure that the people who are constantly calling about “your extended warranty” are relieved that the phone lines are no longer congested. Lol!
I love a Pointelle sweater, and I think this black one is so pretty with the denim shirt underneath it. I love how the denim shows through the Pointelle pattern. I think this pattern is feminine and graceful. I’ve always loved a cable-knit sweater, and the Pointelle pattern adds another element to the look. This black pull-on sweater has a large band at the hem, and there are cute buttons on the shoulders. I am wearing a size large, and it fits great. I ordered the larger size since I knew that I would always be wearing a shirt or turtleneck under the sweater. The sweater also comes in camel, so hopefully, one of these colors will work for you.
I added a pair of raw hem black washed jeans to my look. These are an old pair by Rachell Parcell, and they are no longer available online. But, black washed jeans are trendy, so I shouldn’t have any trouble finding you a few to look at. I have several pairs myself, so I’ll see if the ones that I currently have are still in stock.
I have been searching for a crossbody handbag that is the perfect size. I think that this one is close, but I am still not sure. I love the bag’s color, and I like the shape, but I am not sure that it is wide enough to hold all of my items. This leather crossbody handbag is by Fossil, and it comes in several other colors.
Most of the time, when I wear black, I will wear silver-tone jewelry. Buy, I decided to wear the warmer tones of gold to match with the brown crossbody handbag. I love the Karina earrings and their boho vibe. These are a pair that Kendra Scott brought out of the design vault for a limited time. You see me wear my gold vermeil cross necklace all of the time. I hardly ever take it off, and I’ll put it right back on as soon as I can. You have to buy the chain and then add the gold vermeil cross to create the look. When I was dressing, I wasn’t sure if the cross necklace would be long enough to show up against the sweater, so I also added the Rue long necklace to my look. And the final piece of jewelry is the Ryder multi-chain magnetic bracelet, which is still out of stock.
Aerosoles shoes are always comfortable, and these are no different. I am so thrilled to see brands finally starting to make fashionable flats for women, so now you have no excuse for not wearing cute shoes. Lol! These suede loafers are a gorgeous taupe color, which means that they will go with almost anything. I am wearing my usual size 9, so these run true to size.
BTW, I forgot to mention the denim/chambray button-up shirt that I have on. This is one from J. Crew Factory, and I love the well worn looking color. I am wearing a medium, but I think that I’ll send it back for a large since it is a teensy-bit tight.
Y’all, I knew that the Black Friday Sales would start early this year, and Walmart is starting one TODAY!!! This sales event will start at 7:00 pm EST and go through the 8th. Tania-I love your blog and the outfits you post. I don’t comment often but will try to do better! On today’s outfit-I love it! Would have never thought of putting the denim under the black sweater! Thanks for all you do for fashion and helping us gurls not look frumpy!
Debbie, it is so sweet of you to comment! I do appreciate the effort.
i have not contributed to your blog but i am one of the gurls and I certainly do look forward to reading your posts each day. Some nights as I lie awake unable to sleep I find myself waiting for 12:03 AM as this is when your blog posts, making me quite possibly one of your first readers of the day! I have ordered clothing you styled that i loved and receive RF products from you. I introduced you to my sister who has also become a loyal reader who has order clothing and plans also to hook up with some RF. We both have been inspired to try a little harder for more put together looks. I love your transparent personable honest personality! I appreciate all of the time you save me by doing the shopping and trying on for me! Thank you for your blog!
Wow, you must be one of the first readers in the mornings!
I read and enjoy your posts every day! Thank you for keeping us well dressed and well informed!
I am so happy that you are one of the Gurls!
I love your blog Suzie, your outfits always look great! I really love your Sunday posts…much more than I would have thought I would. Thank you! You brings home so many ideas that help me. I really appreciate you!
I am so glad that you have found that you love my Sunday posts! That makes me very happy.
Even though our everyday styles are quite different as I live in rural Alberta and am usually dealing with cows and dirt, my “going to town” wardrobe is a little more classy lol. I have ordered some sweaters that you have modeled on your blog and have been happy with those purchases. I sometimes forget or take for granted how much effort people do to provide a glimpse into their own lives. So thank you for all your hard work, it definitely brightens my day!
I understand what you mean, Lorie. My everyday look, your everyday look, and someone else’s everyday look can vary greatly!
I love this outfit and it looks so good on you! I just might order the whole thing! Thank you so much for what you do!
I am glad that you liked this outfit, Lynn!
Always very stylish ! Live your posts keep up the good work ! Atta girl!
Thanks, Donna!!!
Love your blog…it’s the only one I follow! You just always look so put together. I’m wondering what you might suggest for every day outfits, during the cold season, for someone who doesn’t like jeans. I’ve made myself a promise that I’m not going to live this winter in sweatpants and sweatshirts! But I really don’t like jeans…I find them to be cold and usually somewhat uncomfortable. Suggestions?
It is harder if you don’t like jeans, and are swearing off sweatpants. I like leggings, and especially the lined ones in the winter.
I think a white shirt would look good with the black shirt and black washed jeans.
That would look great! I totally agree.
“Atta Girl” Tania! Yes I love that look with the color
combination. I have charcoal jeggings so maybe a black cardigan would work for me. You were very funny today it’s all the same in San Diego. I’m
waiting for the Real Results of Election to keep things the same for 4 more years.👍
I am just glad that the process is over. Now, we can move forward, no matter who is elected.
