What to Wear to a Baby or Bridal Shower in Spring Over 50
One of the highlights of last year was throwing a baby shower for my niece, Brooke. We held it at a cute bakery/diner in my hometown. Biscuits and chocolate grave? Yes, please! It’s that time of year when love (and baby showers) are in the air. Invitations are in the mail! Wondering what to wear to a baby or bridal shower in Spring? Whether you’re celebrating a little bundle of joy or a beautiful bride-to-be, you want to look cute, comfy, and totally put together. Spring showers call for soft colors, breezy fabrics like cotton and linen, and a whole lot of feminine flair. We’re talking fit-and-flare dresses, flowy midi styles, and easy wardrobe pieces that’ll have everyone saying, “Where’d you get that?” Let’s get dressed up and shower-ready!
What To Wear To A Baby Shower – Boy

This Blue Polo Dress is the kind of outfit you can wear if attending a baby shower for a boy. The fit is relaxed without being shapeless, and the material is soft and stretchy enough for all-day wear.

Here is a different look that looks more polished. Plus, the blazer adds warmth since some indoor events can be chilly.
What To Wear To A Baby Shower – Girl

This Pink Tank Sundress is perfect for a baby shower for a girl. It’s sleeveless, soft, and has just enough volume in the skirt to feel breezy and flattering. The color is warm and springy without being too sweet—think “grown-up pink.”

I would take my favorite denim jacket with me to the event because I hate to be cold. This is a casual look that would work for a lot of different occasions.
What To Wear To A Baby Shower When You Don’t Know The Gender

Pink – ✔️, Blue – ✔️, I’ve got you covered! This Lightweight cotton shirt covers all the bases, and would really work great if the shower is for TWINS – a boy and a girl!! The Lightweight shirt has structure thanks to the cotton blend, but the colors keep it playful. I rolled up the sleeves for a more casual feel.
Fit & Flare Dress in Beautiful Scroll – Talbots
This dress is a stunner! The scroll print and soft hues are just right for a sweet spring shower. I love the square neckline—it’s flattering and unique—and the fit-and-flare shape is always a classic. Plus, it has pockets, and y’all know I’m a sucker for those. Hits below the knee, which is perfect for keeping it classy while still feeling light and fun.
Effortless Jersey Bella Dress in Airy Blossoms – Talbots
This one is all about comfort with a capital C. The jersey fabric is easy-care and perfect for travel or if you’re helping set up for the shower. It’s a simple shift dress with a jewel neckline, and the floral print is soft and feminine. I’d pair this with a lightweight cardigan or denim jacket if the weather turns breezy. This is the dress you can eat cake in and still feel comfy—my kind of outfit!
Meadow Dress in Cotton Poplin – J.Crew
Okay, how dreamy is this dress? The smocked bodice gives shape without being too tight, and the puff sleeves add a touch of romance. Made of 100% cotton poplin, it’s light and breathable—perfect for outdoor garden showers. And yes, it has pockets, too! This one would look darling with a straw handbag and a swipe of peach blush.
Cecily Dress in Blurry Rose Print – J.Crew
Now this dress brings a little drama—in the best way! The longer hemline, oversized puff sleeves, and soft V-neck give it a really elegant feel. Ideal for a fancier bridal shower, maybe one held in a venue or upscale restaurant. It’s 100% cotton and fully lined, so you’ll feel comfy and covered. I’d add a simple necklace and let the dress do the talking!
Boho Midi Dress – Amazon
This tiered midi dress is so fun and floaty! The ruffled sleeves, V-neck, and cinched waist give it a flattering shape without being fussy. I love the Kelly green, but it comes in lots of colors and prints, so you can find just the right one. This is perfect for a backyard baby shower or something a little more casual. Throw on a wedge sandal and you’re good to go!
Graceful Ruffle Maxi Dress – Amazon
This one’s giving major elegance with comfort! The flowy skirt, wrap-style V-neck, and ruffled hem are so flattering and easy to move in. Whether it’s a baby or bridal shower, this dress is versatile enough to work for either. Choose from soft pastels, floral prints, or go bold with a deep wine or navy. It’s the kind of dress that makes you feel pretty the second you put it on.
What to Wear to a Baby or Bridal Shower in Spring Over 50
Smocked Empire Waist Puff Sleeve Midi – Old Navy
If you love a casual-but-cute vibe, this dress is it. The smocked empire waist defines your shape, while the puff sleeves add a trendy touch. It’s made of soft cotton twill, so it’s comfy but holds its shape. Great for an outdoor shower or brunch-style event. This looks elegant in black but more casual in blue or pink. Options at the link!
Linen Square Neck Jumpsuit – Quince
You don’t have to wear a dress! This jumpsuit is seriously chic and modern! The square neckline and self-tie belt give it a tailored look, while the 100% linen keeps it breezy. It’s perfect for mixing and matching with a lightweight cardigan or cropped jacket. Comes in stripes and solids, and yes—it has pockets! I’d wear this to a bridal shower with cute gold hoops and a woven bag.
Linen Palazzo Pants – Amazon
If you’d rather keep things relaxed and comfy, these linen palazzo pants are calling your name. The wide leg, high waist, and side pockets make them great for sitting, standing, or chasing toddlers around the backyard. Pair with a soft blouse and maybe a crossbody bag so your hands are free for holding gifts or a mimosa. These come in tons of colors, but I love the soft grey blue for spring.

I’m loving all of the feminine dresses this summer.. I have those espadrilles in black! Found it🙂
🙂
I love your idea of wearing pink or blue depending on the baby’s gender
What can I wear for a top with palazzo pants? Hate my bare batting arms! Don’t want big pants with bulk on top as well! Suggestions?
Carrie, you can wear a cropped top, or a tee that is tucked. Basically, you can wear anything, but I try to keep the top fitted as much as possible, and if it is tucked or cropped, your legs will look longer.
😊I would wear a cute dress. Couldn’t go wrong with any of the pretty florals from Talbots.
Lots of good choices. :}
😊cute options
🙂 I love the pink tank dress.
