WHITE SNEAKERS WORK FOR BOTH CASUAL OR DRESSY LOOKS
Happy May!!! May is a special month for me, and I like to celebrate it all month long. It is my birthday month! Woohoo! Once we start getting older, we sometimes don’t like seeing the number of candles grow on our birthday cake. When we light the candles, it goes from casting a nice glow to setting off the fire alarms.
Age has never bothered me, and I am always thrilled to see that I made it another year. I don’t hide my age; I’m proud of the years that have given me experience, knowledge, wrinkles, scars, and opportunities. I started this blog when I was 55 at the urging of my sister. I knew nothing about Blogging, but I remember thinking, “how hard could it be?” Lol! It turns out the learning curve was pretty big for someone who hated having their photo taken and had no technical ability. Haha! My point is, don’t ever let not knowing all of the answers keep you from trying new things. I’ll be celebrating my 62 birthday in a couple of weeks, so I can really say that 50 IS NOT OLD!!!
For Monday’s Affordable Fashions, I am showing you a casual look with a dressy feel. There is nothing dressy about this outfit, but it gives off a dressy vibe because it looks polished and put together. This navy floral tank is a rayon/cotton/linen blend, and it is silky and flowy. It feels great against your skin, and it doesn’t show all of your lumps and bumps. The straps are nice and wide, so you don’t have to worry about bra straps. I like tanks, and I wear them all year round since I can layer them with cardigans and jackets. I’m wearing a medium, and it fits me great.
I know some of you don’t like showing your arms, and I understand since mine also tend to flap in the wind. Adding a third piece is something you see me do for several reasons. The third piece will bring an outfit together and make it look complete. It can also hide flaws, such as flapping arms or in my case, a wide waistline. I’m always cold, so the third piece is also a way for me to stay warm, even in the summer months.
This white denim jacket with the ruffle detail is so cute and summery. The jacket is girlie and feminine, and it is perfect for spring and summer. I have several denim jackets, but this style of white jacket was missing from my wardrobe. The jacket has a nice stretch, so it doesn’t feel confining, and the ruffles at the neck and sleeve are the perfect unique detail. I’m wearing a large, and it fits great.
I’ve styled these Roll Cuff Skinny Jeans in white and green, but this is the first time I’ve worn them in navy. I think they will look great this spring and summer with so many colors since they are a classic neutral. These are cute and modern looking, and they are a great length. I’m wearing a size 8, and they fit great but are the tiniest bit tight. If you are between sizes, then you might want to size up.
White sneakers are everywhere and can be worn with anything. It might take a little getting used to since most of us think of sneakers as athletic wear. However, sneakers are a fashion statement, and you might want to start incorporating them into your wardrobe. Spring and summer are a great time to start wearing white sneakers if you’ve resisted them in the past. I like these solid white Puma’s since they are leather and easy to clean.
The accessories I’m wearing are: Adeline Hoop Earrings // Adeline Link Necklace // 18 Kt. Gold Vermeil Cross Necklace // Beaded Elaina Stretch Bracelet //
