WORKING OR PLAYING
After you read this post you may start asking yourself, “is she working or playing?” I have been asking myself the same thing. I just got back from Glamour Day in Columbia, SC late Sunday night. This was a day of pampering from some of the leaders in Rodan and Fields. I was one of about 30 – 40 women who traveled from all over the south to attend this event. This was my second Rodan and Fields event that I have attended, the first being Las Vegas. I got to meet a lot of wonderful women who I had only seen come across my FaceBook feed. 
The event started at 10:00 a.m. and we arrived a little early to help with setting up. Honestly, Caroline Glenn had everything under control, she did a great job of coordinating all the details. As you arrived you were given a group number to try to keep everyone from overwhelming the makeup and hair stylists. I was in group 1 which meant I didn’t have to walk around with no makeup on all day. THAT was a good thing. Lol! Both makeup ladies were very nice, but I liked mine the best. Haha Carolyn from RockStar Beauty did a great job on my makeup. I had never had anyone put my makeup on before so I was a little nervous. I admit that I packed my makeup bag and brought it with me to the event just in case I needed to quickly duck into the bathroom and do some adjustments. Lol! Thankfully, I did not have to do that, but my Energizer Bunny friend was not as lucky as me. She did not have Carolyn as her makeup lady. I would have loved to have shared her photo, but I don’t guess that would have been very nice. However, it would have been funny!
There were three ladies doing hair, and all of them did a great job. I had mine done by Lauren who said she loved my cut. When I sat down, she said that my hair already looked great even though all I had done was wash it and dry it with a round brush. 
We had plenty of snacks and drinks. I somehow didn’t manage to get a picture of the Mimosa’s, but I did manage to drink one. I had worried about having a massage because I can’t stand to be still and I am not comfortable with someone, other than Joe, rubbing their hands all over my body. Lol! Turns out I didn’t have to worry, the masseuse had to cancel at the last minute. I was not a bit unhappy. Hahaha!
This is my Energizer Bunny friend aka Leigh Ann. She and I had on a “lash” shirts and “lash” glasses in honor of the new product Lash Boost that was recently released from Rodan and Fields. 
And then the two of us became four. We laughed and said this is how we wanted our teams to grow.
The four soon became five.
And then we were at eight.
Holy cow, now we are at nine!!!
When your team expands to ten, you go a little crazy! ??????
I promise I wasn’t an oddball that bought the wrong color shirt. There were a lot of gray shirts at the event but they had all left by the time we got around to taking these pictures. Being different from everyone else is one way to get put in the middle of the picture. Lol!
This is a group shot after the event was over. We were the only ones still left, that tends to happen when it is time for the cleanup. The real reason that Leigh Ann and I were sticking around is because there was going to be a business opportunity session happening in about 30 minutes. We live in such a small town that there will not be any of these sessions coming to Grundy, and we wanted to hear what they had to say.
Caroline (in the lash shirt) did a great job getting everything together for the event. And Iris, in the brown, is the one who talked during the business session. While pampering was fun, I admit that the business opportunity session was my favorite part of the entire day. It was so inspiring to hear Iris’s story about how she got involved with R & F and how it has changed her life. Caroline shed a few tears when she talked about her job as a pharmacist. She was working 60 hours or more a week and not getting to spend any time with her family. I am still new to the “business” part of R & F, I got involved because of the products, so it was interesting to listen to Iris tell me about the company and about the doctors. When she talked about Proactive which is the number 1 acne selling medicine in the world and which is sold in 181 countries, I remember thinking how crazy it would have been if I had gotten in on that slice of the pie 20 years ago. Now that these same doctors are inviting me to join in with them, I am not about to miss out on that opportunity.
I was happy with my skin looking better, but I admit I could get used to all this pampering. My Energizer Bunny friend surprised my with a white, very soft and fuzzy, robe with R + F and my name embroidered on it. She also insisted on paying for my supper and the hotel bill. You can see that it was all “work” and no “play!” Lol!

I appreciated all the prayers that you have said for my grandmother. Unfortunately, she passed away late Monday night, so I am traveling to Tennessee for the funeral. Granny was a wonderful force in my life and I loved spending the night with her. I am thankful for all the wonderful memories I have been left with and that she went peacefully. She was a wonderful Christian lady who was even my Sunday school teacher for years. She loved Butterfly pins, so all of the women in the family are going to be wearing a butterfly pin from her collection.

I’m very sorry to hear of your grandmother’s passing. You are in my thoughts. I lost my own grandmother in December. She was 94 and had been my “rock” since I was 6 years old. I’m the only granddaughter and she always made me feel very special and very loved. I always knew that no matter what life threw my way, my Mamaw had my back. She and my grandfather, who died in 1998, always treated their 5 grandchildren the same. They did not play favorites, and what they did for one, they did for all. Their “favorite” was the one who needed them most at that particular moment. I’m trying to carry on that same spirit with my own grandchildren and set as good of an example for them as my grandparents set for me.
So sorry to hear about your granny sweetie. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Oh your sweet grandmother is now dancing w/Jesus & all the beautiful butterflies! I really loved hearing about her & your memories! Such a special blessing to have your grandmother teach you Sunday School! I am sorry for your loss, Tania! My own Granny was a sweetie, but SO funny too! She was always playing practical jokes on everyone & such a hard worker, with never an unkind word! She’s been gone to her Heaven a long time!

So sorry for your loss. God bless her. You were very blessed to have had her in your life for many years. Unfortunately my grandmother passed away at 65 and that was 41 years ago. I still quote her “grannyisms” to this day. I was raised by my grandmother because my mother died at 38′ to say she made an impact on me is an understatement.
I’m so very sorry for your loss. I was blessed to be close to both of my grandmothers, and especially close to one in particular. Because of that, I think I can understand how you may be feeling. It hurts our heart, even though we know that she’s in Heaven with all the family and friends that have gone on before. There are singing and laughing, telling stories, all in the company of our Lord. Still doesn’t make it easy for us, does it?

I will always adore my memories of my two grandmas, who were so different from each other. One was pretty sassy, and the other so family focused. My little red-haired grandma was barely five feet tall. When I was a child I was always the runt, and then I hit 14 and proceeded to shoot up nine inches, to 5’9″, over four years. I hadn’t seen my grandma for about five of those inches. I remember she rushed out to the car when we pulled up. I stepped out of the car and her face kept going higher and higher. Finally she blurted out, “I thought you were gonna be like me!” And we loved how she took us to Jack in the Box, where we got free balloons!!
What a blessing to have had your granny for so long!
I had to do a double take…….your sweet granny looks so much like my sweet Mama that passed in 2015. She was always the life of the party, loved Everybody, and did the Lord’s work for 87 years. Miss her each and everyday!?
