YOU HAD ME AT LILAC
You know it is going to be a good day when your hairstylist messages you that she is running 5 to 10 minutes late. That is when I got the deer in the headlights look because I had totally forgotten I even had an appointment. I quickly messaged her back and said real casually, “what time is my appointment?” That didn’t fool her at all because her response was, “In 30 minutes. Did you forget?” Lol! I told her that 50 was not old but I might be a tad bit unorganized. Haha!
What I didn’t tell her was that I hadn’t even started to put on my makeup. I had just finished with my normal Reverse routine and had applied my eye cream. I was in the middle of brushing my teeth when she texted. If you know me at all then you already know that it takes me much, much, longer than 30 minutes to put on my makeup and do my hair. I rationalized that I didn’t have to fix my hair because I was going to the hairdresser so I could just concentrate on getting my makeup on really quickly. I can’t skip steps! I tried, I really did, but it just feels not right if I leave off something. Instead, I just decided to move really fast and be efficient. I was walking out the door in 30 minutes and even stopped and picked her up a coffee at McDonald’s. I hope Joe isn’t reading today’s blog because he would expect me to do that every day. That isn’t going to happen!!!
I have been liking my length so I told her to keep everything the same and just to give me a trim. It will be a few days before it is on the blog because I have a couple outfits already taken but you probably won’t notice the difference anyway. This is a pretty colorful outfit compared to yesterday’s post. Everyone seemed to really enjoy the black dress and tortoise shell jewelry. I bought this beautiful top the other day at the overstock store in town and it is by Lisa Rinna. I love the feel of this top, it is silky feeling. It is a blend of 95% Rayon and 5% Spandex which is what the dress was I had on yesterday, but this is lightweight and silky and the dress was more substantial. I don’t quite understand the difference but maybe it has to do with thread count or something. Anyway, I didn’t get a shot of the back but it has a cute inverted pleat that is a really cute unique detail. The keyhole neckline with the silver accent is also pretty darn cute. This is just a relaxed oversized top that doesn’t swallow you. This is actually a Petite but it fits me fine and I am not even close to being Petite.
You can’t see them but I have on my c/o Nina Shoes, Nevaeh sandals. I love this crocheted sandal and you will be seeing these all summer long. I thought about carrying my white purse with outfit since it is so summery but to tell you the truth I just didn’t feel like changing everything out. I am just like the rest of you occasionally and just say the heck with it. The Dooney & Bourke purse looks just fine. Haha
I was talking to my mother this morning and she told me that she really liked my tortoise shell set that I had on yesterday and that she placed an order. I asked her what she thought about the Plunder necklace and earrings that I was giving away. She didn’t know what I was talking about. I asked her if she read the post and she said she did so I said, “didn’t you see the picture of the necklace and earrings?” Then she told me that she did she the picture but she didn’t bother to read the rest of the post. She said, “that is where you always say “follow me” and you talk about Rodan and Fields and I am already buying that so I just don’t read that part.” What!!! My own mother doesn’t even read all of my blog. I told her that is also where I talk about giveaways, etc. She didn’t seem too concerned because she said that SIRI wouldn’t pick her anyway. SIRI has now been instructed to never pick my mother as the winner of anything. Lol!
If you are like my Mom and didn’t read ALL of my blog yesterday then you need to go back HERE and read it so that you can enter my giveaway. Lol!
Do you know what my number one referrer page is? It is Pinterest! I truly appreciate every time you “pin” a picture. Heck, pin ALL the pictures if you want. Lol! Also, if you would like to share my posts on Facebook or Twitter, I would appreciate that. It helps get my blog out to more people, and I am sure you just want to spread the entertaining sayings I have. Lol! The comment section is at the end of the post, so keep scrolling. The lilac is my favorite. Love reading your blogs, gives my day a happy start.
Both look good, but I favor the lilac top . . . really is a good color for you !
Very pretty outfit
Love the lilac top with those georgeous pants.
I love this outfit with the lilac top, but I do LOVE the white tank! It would be soooo cute with a pair of crop jeans! I have several pairs of palazzo pants, but I’m never sure what top to wear with them since the pants are quite bright and flowy. Love this type of top with them! Happy Tuesday!
Where is this Overstocked store?
You always look perfect and Pretty !
Love the lilac top with these pants! You look fabulous ?
I have been following your blog for a few months now and love your style—color and comfort! One of my rules for buying clothes is to be able to mix/match each piece in more than one way and so I love the palazzo pants with both tops! I look forward to reading your blog daily. I’ve recently retired from teaching so I’m in the process of changing my wardrobe from “Miss Frizzle” to…not sure what…but it still has to be cheerful, colorful and a bit boho because that’s just me! I’m having fun reinventing myself!
Love your outfit. Especially the bright pants. Very cute.
Love the lilac! This is exactly the kind of outfit I wear when traveling on a plane to Florida. I just add a cardigan and I am so comfortable!
